OVERVIEW

Common Ground Market is a student-led marketplace event series I created to spotlight and support local and student creative businesses within our community.

As Project Lead, I developed the event from the ground up. I established its identity, built a cohesive visual system, and executed a targeted marketing campaign to drive both vendor participation and attendee engagement.
Designed to feel both empowering and community-driven, the brand balances warmth with boldness, creating a space that feels curated, inclusive, and elevated. The visual language extends across digital and physical touchpoints, including social media, event graphics, and hand-screen printed promotional materials.

The result was a highly engaged multi-event experience, featuring over 20 vendors and attracting 200+ attendees, with a measurable increase in reach and engagement across campaign platforms.

THE CONCEPT

Common Ground Market was created as a platform specifically designed to uplift and empower student entrepreneurs, creating a space where emerging businesses could gain visibility, build confidence, and connect directly with their community. Rather than functioning as a typical vendor fair, the event was intentionally positioned as a launchpad, giving student creatives the opportunity to present their work in a setting that felt professional, curated, and valued.

The concept focused on removing barriers that student entrepreneurs often face, such as lack of exposure or access to formal retail environments, by providing an accessible but elevated space to showcase and sell their work.

Visually, the identity reflects this mission by balancing warmth and approachability with a sense of confidence and structure.

NOTES

NOTES

Leading this project reinforced the importance of designing with intention, especially when creating for a specific audience. It pushed me to consider not only how something looks, but how it functions, connects, and creates impact. Moving forward, this approach continues to influence how I think about design as a tool for building meaningful, experience-driven work.
