RAIL BALTICA ULEMISTE

BRAND IDENTITY, ACADEMIC PROJECT

OVERVIEW

Rail Baltica Ülemiste is more than a station. It's a gateway. As a key hub in the Rail Baltica transnational network, the newly built Ülemiste terminal represents progress, forward movement, and the quiet power of connection between people, cities, and countries

For a brand identity class, I was given the Ülemiste terminal as an architectural subject and tasked with building a visual identity from the ground up. The challenge wasn't just to make something that looked good. It was to make something that felt like the building itself.

THE CONCEPT

I started with finding inspiration from the architecture's bold lines and sweeping forms. The station's structural language became my design language. Every visual decision, the logomark, the typography, the color palette, was drawn directly from what the building was already saying.

The "R" mark sits at the heart of the identity. It embodies speed, direction, and unity, echoing the terminal's architectural lines while symbolizing Rail Baltica's mission to connect seamlessly across borders. It works at every scale, from a wayfinding sign to a favicon.
